Shoulder and Arm Pain
Shoulder and Arm Pain
Have you ever noticed arm or shoulder pain after doing something simple like brushing your teeth, sitting at the computer or reaching out to open a door? If so, you may have an upper back and shoulder issue. In many cases the cause of these symptoms reside in the neck and upper back regions along with the surrounding muscles. If left untreated, the joint irritation and inflammation can continue to increase, causing the pain to worsen. As the pain becomes worse, the arm and shoulder range of motion decreases!
If a spinal condition is found in the upper back and shoulder region upon an examination and x-ray, gentle chiropractic adjustments may be used to help restore proper alignment to the spine and shoulder. This alignment takes pressure off the affected nerves, and in most cases, lessens the pain. Manual therapy may also be used to restore proper muscle tone and balance to the surrounding areas. The combination of these two types of conservative treatments has been very effective in helping the patient’s improvement.
